I've somehow always been more interested in the three-dimensional, tactile artists, and the following are some of the creative folks out there that inspire me the most.

Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928-2000) - Austria

Hundertwasser on Flickr: Good selection and variety of many Hundertwasser buildings (exteriors and interiors). Not really any paintings though.

Nils Udo (1937- ) - Germany

Nils Udo on Flickr: Not many images for "nilsudo" at the moment. His work is very temporary so most photos are by the artist and copyrighted. Better images on Green Museum site (link from name above).

Christo (1935- ) - Bulgaria & Jeanne-Claude (1935- ) - France

"The Gates" by Christo & Jeanne-Claude on Flickr: A search on "Christo" from the "Home" page brings up many more photos, including other works, but there are also lots of photos of men, cats, dogs, and other photos that have been tagged with the word "Christo."
